Lead Pastor / Elder

John Yancey

Raised in northern Virginia, John grew up with a passion for sports and was an active high school athlete. He played college baseball at Randolph-Macon College and began working for AT&T as a programmer upon graduation. John began walking with the Lord in college and was called into the ministry at 23. He moved to Texas to attend seminary in Texas. While in Ft. Worth, he became involved in an inner-city street ministry serving the homeless. He later served in south Dallas at a multi-racial congregation. In 1991, John and his wife Jennifer moved to Nashville to serve at Hope Christian Fellowship. In 2009, Hope merged with Lighthouse where John has served as Lead Pastor.

John and Jennifer have been married since 1989 and have 3 grown children – Joshua, Joy, and Jonathan.  John enjoys reading, coaching all sports, and has recently served as the varsity boys’ soccer coach at Lighthouse Christian School. If he’s not working or at home, you might find him on a Nashville area golf course.
